Cranberry Eye Look

July 29, 2017

So often in my field, I find those that are afraid to use colour! Not only clients, but artist's I know just don't have the confidence to pull off more intense shades on the eye. Well I'm here to encourage you to pick up some brighter shades and start playing!

For years I've delved into wearing all colours of the rainbow and have always had people say "I wish I could pull that off" - but the fact is they could, everyone can wear colour, you just need to know how and have the confidence to do so!

First off I always start with a good base, MAC Paint pot in Soft Ochre. This allows your lid to be evened out and primed for your shadows to stay on all day. Next up is your transition shade, Cupcake by Makeup Geek. This will be buffed all through your crease to allow a nice transition between the brighter and darker shades we add later. Once Cupcake is blended nicely with a fluffy brush, take Stay Golden pressed shadow by Colourpop Cosmetics and intensify your crease and lower lash line. Make sure this is blended seamlessly with your transition shade before moving onto the shimmer on your lid. Here I used both Osun and Zuba from the Juvias Place 'Magic' Palette. Using a flat shadow brush, pack on your colour, spritz your brush with fix + and apply to the eyelid, blending both colours into a foiled gradient. Lastly, use MAC Sketch eyeshadow to deepen your outer corner and lower lash line, giving an intense smoked out look.
